Shenfield High School

After a series of County call ups for no less than 6 Shenfield Cricketers, Tim Mason made it 7 after being selected to represent the Essex U'14 Rugby side. Tim who has excelled throughout his time at Shenfield was one of only a handful from the borough to be selected. When Tim joined Shenfield in year 7 not many expected his progress to be so dramatic, however as a result of his excpetional hard work and dedication, he is reaping the rewards.

Tim not only excels in Rugby but also narrowly missed out for County Cricket selection. As well as this Tim captains the school Basketball and deputises when regular Football captain Josh Portway is unavailable. Tim is a fantastic role model for his peers and someone who will i'm sure become a Shenfield superstar.  Having already gained back to back Outstanding achiever awards at our prestigious Sports Awards evenings.

Mr Bennett who taught Tim PE in his first two years at Shenfield and also runs the year 9 sports teams remarked 'Tim is a wonderful young man whose passion and committment is second to none. Tim is a great listener who takes on board feedback, giving himself every chance of improving', it is a real pleasure to coach him and I hope he continues to enjoy his time at Shenfield in the years to come'.

This list of County players also includes 3 girls who are in the Essex Cricket development sides. As well as the more traditional sports, we have many students who are achieving at a National level. Two gymnasts in year 7. Holly Tanner and Christian Emmanuel-Smith have recently competed in National competitions and trained for their country. An incredible achievement at such a young age. There are plenty more examples of Sporting talent within the school and if your son/daughter is serious about their sport, Shenfield High School is a fantastic platform for them.
