Shenfield High School

The U'15 girls comfortably won their County final's at Essex CCG after defeating Saffron Walden and Colchester County High School. Due to the unusual draw Shenfield contested a close semi-final against Saffron Walden. After a quick start Saffron stormed to 35 off the first 3 overs and a prominent total looked likely. However the impressive Timson and Hoad bowled beautifully in the final few overs to limit the score to a below par 58. In response Shenfield started shakily and lost Garwood and Timson first ball to leave us 6-2. Clark joined Drewe and both batted superbly to take their team to within touching distance of the total. Both retired to leave Soyer and Hoad to knock off the remaining 10 runs sending shenfield through to the County Final for the 4th consecutive time.

The final was never really a contest as Shenfield racked up 90-2 in their 8 overs with a lot of wayward bowling. Colchester lost early wickets and if it wasn't for a couple of bowling changes then they wouldn't have reached 20. Shenfield travel to the regional finals hoping to avenge their defeat in the final last year and win that place in the National Finals at the home of Cricket, Lords CCC.
