Shenfield High School

The Shenfield High School Cricket Academy 1st X1 put in a tremendous alround performance to beat Lleyton 6th college by 100 runs and reach the Essex Cup semi-final. Plying the game at their home ground of Shenfield CC they won the toss and batted first on what was a good batting deck and quick outfield. The tone was set after the first over that went for 18 after Jack P dispatched their opening attack to all parts. As he departed Shenfield were 72-0 after 6 overs and well on their way to a huge total. Haris Mahmood joined Parmenter and continued his excellent form with a classy 68 off just 41 balls. Tom Ballington then joined in the party striking 40 off 25 which took the total to 199-2 in their alloted 20 overs.

The reply never really got going as the Shenfield attack proved too good, eventually they were dismissed for exactly 100 and the game was sealed by a huge 99 runs. Shenfield will go on to play either Sir George Monoux or KEGS in the semi-final which could see them meet a very strong Great Baddow in the final.
