Shenfield High School

Both of the Shenfield Girls Cricket teams produced dominant displays in their respective finals thrashing local rivals St Martins in two very one sided games. Despite going into the game as underdogs the U'13 girls produced an solid batting display which saw Erica Hobson and Grace Dignum both retire on the allotted 20 and post a very competitive 100-4 after 15 overs. The girls then put into practice all of their hard work in practice with a dominant bowling display. All of the girls called upon (10!!) bowled with great control and accuracy meaning that St Martins could never get going and finished on 67-6 after their 15 overs.

In the U'15 final despite being strong favourites the team lead by the impressive Poppy Timson put in a devasting display. In the reduced 15 overs Shenfield ammassing 114-7 with 2 girls retiring on 25. Early wickets meant that the total was never in doubt and St Martins finished on 77-5 with that including 8 different bowlers used for Shenfield. The girls have now won successive MESSSA trophies and will look to defend their Essex Cup titles when they play Felsted and St Martins again next week.
