 Shenfield’s School Sports Partnership

Shenfield’s School Sports Partnership has been running since 2006. We have 34 schools in our partnership, 6 secondary, 26 primary and 2 specialist school. Through funding from the government, Shenfield High School and partnership primary schools we provide provision for local primary and secondary schools and competitive opportunities in a variety of sports.

Nearly every week there is a different sporting competition that primary schools can enter and the winners progress to County and Regional competitions. We also run a number of inclusive events for children with disabilities or those that lack confidence and self esteem. It allows pupils to experience the superb facilities that are available at Shenfield High School and gives students an insight into the opportunities available at Shenfield High School.

In addition to the competitions the Partnership also provides opportunities for professional development for staff through courses and training to ensure consistent and sustainable PE in primary schools. We actively encourage Healthy Schools and engage with schools who are looking to get all pupils active through golden mile or everyone active 30.

We have also helped 15 local primary and secondary schools gain games mark 2017/18 with 10 of them receiving gold status.

We work closely with our local clubs to provide pathways for students who have excelled or loved a particular sport to ensure sustainability and progress for these students.

Our aim is to allow all students access to sport and work closely with coaches, teachers and NGB’s to deliver high quality PE and ensure every student has an active, healthy lifestyle.
