What do we offer?

A full time Cricket Program for 16-18 year olds

Available to both boys and Girls

25 1st X1 fixtures played in 2016 (Won 22 lost 3)

2nd X1 Fixtures to be more prominent with larger intake

Good Links with Essex CCC to further develop Gifted and Talented Cricketers

Specialist weekly coaching sessions – Including support from Catherine Dalton (Ireland and Middlesex CCC), Matthew Salisbury (Cambridge MCCU, Somerset CCC) and Harry McQueen (Essex CCC lead S&C coach)

Bi-annual tour to Cape Town, South Africa

Academy Kit – Full tracksuit (Nike) T20 Kit (Gray Nicholls)

Coaching qualifications – Level One Activators course/Coach support worker

National Cup Cricket – U’17 and U’18s

Annual tour to Eastbourne and Brighton University (One of the best teacher training school in the country)

Strong links to local cricket clubs – Shenfield and Hutton CC

Entry into the St Albans 20/20 for which we are the only State School invited

U’17 and U’19 Essex Cup matches (Current holders at U’19s for the past 7 years)

Essex CCC led S&C coach running a 6 week programme


How does it work?

Timetabled Training every Wednesday from 12:30 – 15:00

15:00 -16:00 – Specific group coaching sessions

Alongside the Academy you can study 3 A Levels, A BTEC with 2 A-Levels or a BTEC Extended Diploma (3 A-Level equivalent)

Academy players follow an Off-Season program between September and February

Off Season focus – Technique and fitness

In the On-Season (February to April) net based sessions

Post interview you will be invited in for a training session / trial.  This will include a tour of the school with a current SCA player.
