Shenfield High School

Shenfield's U17 cricket team travelled to the prestigious and historic Clarendon school of Westminster today and enjoyed a dramatic last ball win. Stuart Lewis hit came in with Shenfield requiring 8 from 5 balls with 2 wickets left. He won it with a ball to spare with 2 fours smashed over mid on. Shenfield had bowled well and fielded even better to restrict Westminster to 90 for 9 from 20 overs. On a deteriorating pitch Shenfield accumulated runs slowly. When Larkin (25) and Mahmood (14) were dismissed Shenfield started to wobble. George pratt and tom mann looked good before being dismissed by impressive off spinner Amin. So it was left to the last over with carter out first ball of the over, that Stuart Lewis performed his heroics.

Shenfield will face one of the strongest cricket schools in the country, Dulwich College in the last 32 in the country. The game was played in great spirit with Westminster proving excellent hosts and showing high the sporting standards in the face of a narrow defeat. All the boys can be very proud of their performance and the manner in which represented their school's.
