Sixth Form Uniform

 

 

Sixth Form students are expected to maintain a smart, professional appearance appropriate to their specialisms. Consider carefully the neckline, length and transparency of material. All Sixth Form students are provided with an ID badge which MUST be worn at all times

Standards of dress and personal presentation are relevant to all students. Minimum standards of personal presentation will be expected and any student who is unacceptably dressed will be sent home and be subject to possible further sanctions. In general, standards of dress should be smart, fit for purpose and portray a favourable impression of the Sixth Form.

 

Shirts/blouses

Any colour, plain or patterned shirt/blouse, either long or short-sleeved. Sixth Form branded ties are available.

A plain, smart jumper or cardigan may be worn.  A black tailored jacket may be worn.

Trousers/skirt

Traditional full-length black tailored trousers.

Tailored black plain style skirt.  Tailored dresses, either with sleeves or pinafore style may be worn in black, with a shirt underneath if desired.

Footwear

Plain black leather or leather-look.

Tights

Plain fine or opaque black, dark grey or flesh-coloured (no patterns or leggings).

Other

Identification Badge:

All students must wear their identification badge and lanyard at all times whilst in school.

Outdoor wear:

Jackets and outdoor clothing must be removed during lessons.

Gloves and hats should be removed once on the school premises.

No hoodies, denim, fur or leather jackets of any style at any time.

No trainers may be worn at any time.

Hair:

No extremes of fashion (style or colours).  No shapes or markings cut into hair or eyebrows.

Jewellery:

No facial or visible body piercings except earlobes.

Earrings should be discreet with no more than two discreet piercings per ear.

No visible tattoos.

 

Shenfield High School reserves the right to act as the final authority in the interpretation of the dress code.  If unsure, students/parents are advised to contact the Pastoral Managers:
