Ollie Parkin – Head Boy

Words cannot quite express how thrilled I am to be Head Boy this year at Shenfield - that may seem dramatic, but it’s true. I’ve been at Shenfield for nearly 7 years, and I’ve truly loved every single minute of it. Unfortunately, I’ll be gone soon, so I want to give something back, to make a positive impact that will outlast my tenure.

I’m doing A-Levels in Music, Computer Science and English Language, and hope to go into the music industry in the future. I firmly believe that engaging with the arts is one of the most important parts of not just school, but of all of life, and so I want to use my position to promote music, drama, and creative writing among others. Finding my love of music was such an important step in my life, and I hope to help others find their creative passions - in an ever-changing world, what can we do but create, innovate, communicate, change and change again? I want to lead by example by actively engaging in the school community, putting in the time and the effort necessary alongside my fellow student leaders throughout the school to influence and shape this school around us; the community, because school isn’t just a place, it’s people.

Emily Ellis – Head Girl

I am so pleased to be Shenfield High School’s Head Girl. It’s a full circle moment for me, having started in Year 7. Over the past seven years, Shenfield has been a place that has allowed me to grow into the person I am today, while giving me endless opportunities to make lifelong friends, discover my interests and develop confidence in myself. My journey here has prepared me for life beyond school, and with this role I have the chance to give back to the teachers and peers that have supported me continuously throughout my time here.

I am currently studying A-level English literature, Business and Media, which I find challenging and rewarding. These subjects have developed my communication, analytical and creative skills- allowing me to confidently express my ideas for this school. After completing my A- levels I hope to attend university and study a joint honours degree, potentially English Literature and Communications. As Head Girl, I want to use the skills and experiences I have gained at Shenfield to represent every student’s needs. Hopefully I can be someone that students approach and we can have a positive impact altogether.

Tomisin Olayiwola – Deputy Head Boy

I am really glad to be your Deputy Head Boy at Shenfield High School. Since joining the sixth form, I have had a positive experience, and a big part of that has been the support and encouragement from the staff. I believe teachers and staff play a huge role in student success, not just through education, but by supporting students, building their confidence, and helping them reach their potential. I am grateful for the support I have received and hope that, in my role as Deputy Head Boy, I can give back to the school and help make the Sixth Form an even more positive environment for everyone.

As Deputy Head Boy, I want to reach a target of inclusivity, where every student, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves a voice. As a Senior Leadership Team, we will try to inhabit a culture of acceptance and diversity to make Shenfield High School community unique. I'm studying A-Levels: PE, Business, and Economics, with hopes of studying Business Management at university. I believe that all these subjects give me the attributes of teamwork and problem-solving, allowing me to be ready for the world of work in the future. I’m excited to see what our team of young leaders can achieve together and the positive impact we can make across the school. I hope that, through our ideas, commitment, and willingness to listen to students, we can help create an even more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone at Shenfield High School.

 Sophie Varma – Deputy Head Girl

I am incredibly excited and honoured to take on the role of Deputy Head Girl at Shenfield. Throughout my time at Shenfield, I have grown both personally and academically, and I am extremely grateful for the encouragement and support I have received from both staff and students. The dedication of my teachers has played a significant role in shaping the person and student I am today.

I am currently studying Physics, Chemistry and Maths at A-level, all of which I thoroughly enjoy, and I hope to go on to study Physics at university. My subjects and experiences at Shenfield have created and strengthened my passion for learning and helped me develop into a hardworking and dedicated student.  I am looking forward to working alongside our Head Girl, Emily Ellis, to represent our students, support our school community and build on everything that makes Shenfield such a special place.
